Mackay Airport Pty Ltd (MAPL) welcomes the announcements by Jetstar and Qantas Link that they will increase the number of services operating between Mackay and Brisbane.
MAPL General Manager, Terry Simpson, said the increased services, commencing on 10 May and 6 April respectively, are an excellent addition to those already provided by the two Qantas Group airlines.
"Jetstar will increase their daily flights between Mackay and Brisbane from three to four, offering an additional 1,200 seats each way,"Mr Simpson said.
"The mid-morning flight from Brisbane and lunch-time flight out of Mackay will suit the region’s growing leisure market in particular."
"With QantasLink also announcing an additional eight Brisbane – Mackay return services each week we are seeing a marked increase in capacity on this popular route."
